Nutrition education improves diabetes

According to the study conducted with the researchers from Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, the excess weight, blood sugars, and levels of cholesterol of diabetics could be reduced by educating them about vital nutrients.

Researchers conducted classes and taught the patients about different diets with less meat and much fat and cholesterol.

“Doctors can change their waiting rooms into classrooms. It’s proven and very efficient. Patients know about well balanced meals changes, and may share tips, swap recipe ideas, and function with challenges together,” stated author Neal Barnard.

Earlier, some studies stated that dietary interventions work for diabetes management because unlike medications, they sometimes improve several health markers simultaneously.
