Muscles are not exclusively for men. Australian fitness influencer?Chyanne?Weatherby?is aware of this, and frequently shares photos of herself flexing her muscles. But she recently chose to take a stance after a little followers?commented that she looked “manly.” In a side-by-side photo, Weatherby posed in a dress on the left and in her underwear around the right. On?the first picture, she wrote, “Not manly,” and over the second, she wrote, “Still not manly.”
Because Thursday’s are for #throwbackthursday ?? ? Whack me in a dress and also you wouldn’t even think I lift.. so many people are so quick to evaluate a woman according to her flexed pose.. but I can guarantee they are probably the same type of person who’d cat call or stare at her while she’s walking across the street ???????? ? What do you think? ?? ? #fitmum #fitmom #shecandoboth #flexed #thursdaythoughts
“Whack me in a dress and also you wouldn’t think I lift,” she wrote. “So many people are so quickly to judge a woman based on her flexed posed.. however i can promise that they’re probably the same type of person who’d cat call or stare at her while she’s walking across the street.”
This isn’t the very first time that Weatherby, who runs the most popular Instagram @aus_fitmum, posted this?image:?In?February, she shared exactly the same photos having a more in depth caption?about her body image.
“I’m tired of people feeling as if they can discuss my body system saying I look manly,” she wrote then. “Lifting weights won’t cause you to manly. It will make you shapely! What people do not understand is the quantity of effort it requires to appear how I do! I flex within my photos since it shows off my muscles, that doesn’t mean I walk around appearing like that day long.”
Aesthetics aside, there is no reason to associate muscle tone and sex. Both men and women can (and really should!) strengthen and tone their bodies. The advantages of weightlifting range from increasing your metabolism to improving sleep.
It’s encouraging that Weatherby is using her platform to advertise wellness and self love. On her, self care involves exercising. We feel that any healthy way you find to reduce stress or some type of self-improvement deserves a thumbs up-not judgmental?comments.
