1. Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes contain huge amounts of a vitamin, vitamin C, manganese, fibre, potassium and in some cases iron.

In fact, one serve of sweet potatoes is packed along with seven times your everyday vitamin A needs!

Starchy and sweet, this versatile veggie is often a solid winter favourite – and is particularly both short of GI and in antioxidants.

2. Broccoli

Broccoli is high in vitamin C, fibre, beta-carotene, folate and potassium, as well as a mere 15 to 25 calories per serving, it’s also your waistline’s best companion.

It also provides 48 percent of your body’s desire for vitamin A, that helps your defense system to function at its best.

3. Ginger tea
